Trend 1: Environmental Awareness On the Rise (Huo & Peng, 2023; Wang & Azam, 2024)

Implications on Resource Development Strategies (RDS):

The attention of the wider society, with a growing focus on global environmental sustainability, has shifted development strategies to how we can use fewer resources. For J2 Rescue & Rehab, Inc. (J2RRINC.org), this trend signals the need for sustainable acumen adoption for wildlife conservation, restoration, programs, and partnerships (McNay, 2020). J2RRINC.org can align its strategies and practices with eco-friendly doctrines and promote biodiversity conservation in compliance with UN SDGs (Kerr, 2025).

Examples:

  1. Eco-Rehabilitation Practices: J2 could use sustainable rehabilitation setups for animals to thrive in natural environments with minimal impact on surrounding locations. For example, one way would be to comply with the Environmental Justice for All Act (H.R.2021 117th Congress https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/2021/text), using renewables like solar panels for power and sustainable materials in construction.

  2. Community Engagement: Workshops to create awareness on wildlife conservation will interest the community, turning them into supportive donors as they get sensitized on the significance of lowering carbon footprints.

Trend 2: Technology Implementation in Conservation (Huo & Peng, 2023; Wang & Azam, 2024)

Implications on Resource Development Strategies (RDS):

From Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing to data analytics, modern-day tech is significantly changing the game for conservation work. Bausback (2024) reported that NASA is developing and taking its first civilian nuclear reactors using water/ice on the moon (Figure 1) (NewsNation, 2025). Developing a continuous power source has the potential to yield greater security and monitoring for the U.S. Golden Dome proposed by President Trump (Demarest, 2025). Thus, drones would become more efficient when equipped with remote sensing.

These technologies can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of RDS used by J2RRINC.org.

Examples:

  1. Habitat Mapping through GIS: J2RRINC.org can use GIS technology to pinpoint areas supporting large wildlife populations, or those that are likely threatened by degradation. This information can inform us where to allocate resources for rescue and restoration efforts.

  2. Monitoring Drones: Using drones for monitoring wildlife habitats allows real-time information on animal movement and environmental conditions, leading to immediate action.

  3. Tech-Fundraising Platforms: A great advocacy tool for nonprofit organizations leveraging social media and online donation tools. For instance, Facebook Donate can help broaden the awareness and relevance of an organization while also increasing donations towards technological integration.

Resource Development — Key Trends

Increasing environmental awareness and progress in technology are two significant trends making their presence felt in RDS. When J2RRINC.org's conservation strategies sync with these trends, it would be better positioned to perform successful work in conservation, bring stakeholders together, and ensure the long-term funding needed for that critical and rewarding effort. These methods are not only consistent with the organization's mandate but also help secure its reputation as a global leader in the science of modern, sustainable wildlife conservation.
